Mark Goodier

Mark Goodier is one of the UK's most respected broadcasters. With a career spanning 25 years in both local and national radio Mark has become one of the most recognisable and trusted voices in British radio today.

Having returned to the BBC at the close of 2012 to dep on Radio 2, Mark had hosted mid-mornings on Smooth Radio in London and across the UK. 

Mark's other presenter credits include the Official Classic FM Chart ShowSmash Hits! Chart across commercial radio, Real Top 40 on Real Radio and various programmes for the BBC World Service.

Beginning his career at Radio Forth in Edinburgh at the age of 18, he worked on Radio Clyde (Glasgow) before joining BBC Radio 1 in 1987. 

At Radio 1 Mark presented a vast range of programmes including Drivetime and the prestigious Radio 1 Breakfast Show. Mark also helped to devise and create the world famous Evening Session. This ground breaking show went on to become the breeding ground for a new generation of musicians and exclusive live performances taking a risk with new artists.

Mark's name is however most associated with the UK Charts as he presented the Official UK Top 40 on BBC Radio 1 for over a decade until he left the station in 2002.
