Wise Buddah has recently been commissioned to produce three documentary features for BBC Radio 1:
Cut and Paste: Sample based music is more popular than ever, and as software becomes increasingly user friendly, more people are remixing, reworking, and reshaping music. In this documentary for Radio 1, Pete Tong investigates the world of cut and paste music, looking at: the art and craft of origins; its origins and history in popular music from hip hop to house; the legal issues; through to the advent of visualisation and mash ups. The programme will be mixed and engineered by renowned turntablist DJ Yoda and produced by Sam Gregory.
Torture Porn: A look at the current trend for "Torture Porn" films, the new modern horror genre.
Locked Up: What's life like behind bars? Three inmates at HMP Aylesbury record their stories telling how they came to be inside, how prison has changed them and what their hopes are for the future. The inmates will be making their own documentaries, using music to describe their mood and to help tell their story.
Wise Buddah programmes recently broadcast on the network include:
I'm With The Band examining the world of the groupie, talking to those fans who follow their musical idols around the country. I'm With The Band was produced by Hermeet Chadha and presented by Sara Cox as part of the Sunday Surgery.
The Devil Plays The Best Tunes delved into the world of the occult and young people's fascination with it whilst taking a look at how satanism and the occult have inspired heavy rock bands. The Devil Plays The Best Tunes was produced by Natasha Costa Correa and presented by Daniel P Carter as part of the Radio 1 Rock Show.
