This is a natural progression for him seeing as he has always been obsessed with gadgets and gizmos alike. Ortis is also now a regular face in the mornings
presenting GMTV’s competition strands.

Ortis can count among his recent shows a new series of Sorcerer’s Apprentice for BBC One, CBBC’s SM:ART and Best of Friends, the narration of CBBC nature programme, Wild Tales, and Today on 3 for the 3 Network.

After 15 years of television presenting Ortis has become a familiar and popular choice, therefore has many credits to his name. Ortis started his presenting career presenting shows for LWT, then got spotted and was the main host for Trouble TV before progressing on to BBC One hosting the popular children’s Saturday morning show Live and Kicking, alongside Why 5, Making It and Short Change. From this he went on to present various CBBC shows including X-perimental which was perfect for him with his science background.

Ortis has a BSc Hons. degree in Pharmacy which helped him win the role of presenting a one-off special for Tomorrow’s World and then guest presenter on Watchdog both for BBC One.

Being passionate about all types of sport he was in his element when asked to present his own sports show for BBC Radio 5 Live interviewing the athletes as they prepared for the Sydney Olympics, following on from this success Ortis went to Athens to follow Great Britain’s Paralympics basketball team for CBBC’s Short Change.

From his vast presenting experience he is often asked to host award ceremonies, such as The People’s Choice Black Music Awards for Five, Smash Hits and the British Academy Children’s Film and Television Awards for the BBC. For this, he was also nominated twice as Best Presenter.

Not limited to television presenting, as an actor, Ortis was seen in a cameo role in the feature film Derailed alongside Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston, he also played a featured role in the British cult movie Kidulthood.

Ortis is an extremely talented, rounded presenter with a charming personality and a strong character. As well as presenting shows, in his spare time he likes to write TV ideas and practise Kung Fu.
